The Buddy Smith Veterans Home

The Buddy Smith Home for Veterans assists veterans who have completed their military service and are seeking to reintegrate into society. In addition to providing affordable housing, the Buddy Smith Home provides veterans affordable housing, access to health care referrals, skills training, counseling, and helps find supportive employment for the disabled.

The Buddy Smith Home, coordinated with the Veteran’s Administration and with the help of other local organizations, is the only facility in Fort Smith designated specifically to help veterans with all aspects of the transition back to civilian life. The Buddy Smith Home helps veterans who have served in all branches of the Armed Forces.

The Arc of the River Valley

The Arc of the River Valley provides services to people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc currently serves more than 500 people and is unique in that it also provides recreational and skills training programs for individuals with disabilities. The organization provides snacks, exercise classes, cooking classes, art classes, and other activities and fun events that their members can participate in.

This is one of the only organizations in the River Valley that provides these services that help the physical, mental health, and well-being of individuals in Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.
